Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy

Mindfulness-based core process psychotherapy (MBCPP) is a wonderful blend of Buddhist psychology and psychodynamic psychotherapy. A psycho-spiritual modality, it combines the mindfulness practice of Buddhism and its fundamental teaching of compassion with a traditional psychodynamic approach, which explores our early development and seeks to explain how we came to be in relationship with others.

As such, MBCPP offers a contemplative approach to psychotherapy, an opportunity to slow down and focus on the here and now, and acquire an awareness of yourself as an integrated body-mind rather than a body hijacked by a mind full of thoughts.

It allows you to gain an in-depth understanding of how you came to be the way you are now, what remains unresolved and what needs your attention.

Healing can occur in a safe therapeutic relationship based on trust

As your therapist, I am able to offer you presence and awareness without judgement. I don’t believe I am an expert on you, but through a process of collaboration and joint enquiry with me in a safe space, you can take the time to get to know yourself on a much deeper level and access that part within you that already knows what is best for you – your core self or true nature. In my experience, this can lead to greater intimacy in relationships and more ease in life as you find yourself better able to deal with challenges and experience an overall sense of wellbeing.

You don’t need to be a Buddhist or have any experience of mindfulness or meditation to experience core process psychotherapy. It is enough to just be as you are.

Working with me

If you’d like to find out more about working with me or have any questions, please contact me to arrange a brief phone chat followed by a free initial meeting. Here we can talk about what’s happening in your life, you can ask any questions you may have, get a sense of whether therapy is right for you and if we would like to work together.

At present I am able to offer online therapy only but I will have some in-person spaces opening up in London in the new year so please either check back here or fill in the Contact Form to let me know you’re interested and I will put you on my waiting list.
